Chris Alberding, FairPoint’s VP of product management, said in a statement: “We’ve seen tremendous interest in data center services since we opened our data center in Laconia. With an additional data center location, we’ll be able to provide more businesses – both within and outside of our service area – with secure data center services.”
FairPoint’s largest customer base comes from the northern New England area that includes Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire with the company entering the region in 2008 when it purchased Northern New England Spinco, a landline business previously owned by Verizon, for $2.4bn.
