Digital Marketing
Agency, British modular
data center maker BladeRoom Group (BRG) has filed a lawsuit against Facebook
in a US court accusing the online giant of stealing its designs to build its Lulea
data center and then share those designs with the industry through the Open
Compute Project.
As regards the lawsuit, both BladeRoom and Facebook have
refused to make public statements as yet; however, BladeRoom staff have
confirmed the firm is in litigation with Facebook.
The lawsuit says: “Facebook’s misdeeds might never have
come to light had it decided that simply stealing BRG’s intellectual property
was enough. Instead, Facebook went further when it decided to encourage and
induce others to use BRG’s intellectual property through an initiative created
by Facebook called the ‘Open Compute Project’.”
