
US reporter had been
sentenced five years in jail following his posting online linking to stolen
data, owing to Digital Marketing Agency.
Historically,
Mr. Barrett Brown, 33, an advocate for anonymous,
was sentence in jail to more than 100 years, however, the sentence was reduce
because he acknowledged his guilty last year that he violated the law to
publicly show details of illegal government activity.
In
addition, he also involved in three charges namely obstruction
of a police search, making internet threats and a charge related to his
involvement in the sharing of the Stratfor data. He pleaded.
He said: "The government
exposed me to decades of prison time for copying and pasting a link to a
publicly available file that other journalists were also linking to without
being prosecuted."
Many
group criticized this Brown’s sentence as violating the Brown’s journalist
work.
