to Chinese users, no longer are they able to use Google for search. This is
also confirmed by Google's transparency report. It is reported that China has
blocked access to Gmail, as well as other Google properties.
Provided that you check Google’s transparency report specifically for Web search access within China you will see that traffic for that property is about half the normal usage since after December 25th.
“We’ve checked and there’s nothing technically wrong on our end,” said a Google spokesperson. Some users in China trying to access Google web search are being blocked completely. Even though some users are able to be redirected to Google Hong Kong, about half of those users are being cut off.
