
Facebook follow Turkish court order to block page
that is said to offend the Prophet Muhammad, owing
to Digital Marketing Agency.
If the social media platform had refused, the court had
threatened to block access to the entire site.
Court mentioned, “in
case the media platform refused to not complying with, it will threatened to
block to the entire site which currently have around 40 million members in Turkey”
There was no any comment from facebook, however, it said
it dose have a policy of blocking access to content within a country if it
breaks local law. Facebook also releases a report of requests from governments
around the world for data user.
Furthermore, cybersecurity
expert Prof Alan Woodward from Surrey University said, “"These companies
might be US-based but their users are global - they have to respect local
traditions and customs. And they need to obey a law of the country.”
