Microsoft Word and PowerPoint to Have a Live Chat Feature Powered by Skype

(Digital Marketing Agency) – Following Microsoft official blog announcement, a similar feature to Google Drive chat, which allow users to instantaneously converse, will be input in its Word and PowerPoint web apps.

The firm confirmed that it will use a built-in Skype chat for this new feature that will be accessible in the upcoming weeks for office online. Once this feature is available, a “Chat” button will be visible in the upper-right corner which let users start the dialogue when clicking on it. The messages come with a typical sidebar window.

This Skype-powered chat can also allow users to continue the communication via the main service which means they can use their Skype app regardless of devices and pick up the chat from there.

The firm finally stated that this feature is expected to extend to OneNote, and Excel as well.
