Amazon committed to renewable energy

Well-known Digital Marketing Agency, Amazon has made a promise to use 100 percent renewable energy in its Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centres, which has been welcomed by environmental campaigner Greenpeace.

According to an announcement on its site, the cloud services giant made a "long term commitment" to use only renewable energy in its global infrastructure.

Greenpeace said: "Amazon’s data centers consume massive amounts of electricity, and they’re proliferating incredibly quickly, which is why today’s news is so crucial and promising."

It added: "Amazon’s customers will need more information so that we can trust that AWS means business when it says it is committing to renewable energy. AWS should offer a plan for how it will implement its ambitious new commitment across its footprint."
