Increasing Ad Revenues Drive Google Profits Rise

Digital Marketing Agency, Google earned $3.59 billion profits for the first quarter of its 2015 fiscal year, slightly higher than the $3.4 billion profit in the same period last year with the bulk of the company's revenue coming from advertising at $15.5 billion.
The company posted $17.3 billion in overall revenues, up 12 percent year on year. But for the adverse effects of a strong U.S. dollar, this would have been higher at 17 percent. Upbeat on the numbers, Google chief financial officer Patrick Pichette said: "We continue to see great momentum in our mobile advertising business and opportunities with brand advertisers."
Noting that Google’s video site YouTube has been growing steadily, but for now isn't as profitable as the company's highly targeted search ads, he added: "As you know, video ads generally reach people earlier in the purchase funnel, and so across the industry they tend to have a different pricing profile" than that of search ads.”
