Google's Purpose-Built Robots Cars Drive on Public Road

Google's purpose-built robots cars are tested on the public roads; however, all of them have been heavily modified Lexus SUVs. According to Digital Marketing Agency, “This summer the roads around Mountain View California, where the search giant is based are the famous place for some of the self-driving cars tested.”
Google's purpose-built robot cars will not be totally autonomous, but will have safety drivers on board who can control the machine in case it needed.
Ms Waydo, systems engineer in the self-driving project, said, “In preparation for their public debut, the cars had been put through a series of demanding reliability and durability tests. Each vehicle has been clocking up thousands of miles each week on the test tracks - some of which resemble Californian highways and streets.”
