Mozilla Uses Suggested Tiles for Commercial Advertising

Digital Marketing Agency, Mozilla, once earning revenues from the royalties the open-source software company makes from advertising, now dabbles in commercial advertising with Suggested Title, which starts showing Firefox users targeted ads and content recommendations.

Mozilla makes a promise that this ad initiative will not interrupt user experience and invade users' privacy since it will not retain or share personal data, nor is the company using cookies. Darren Herman, vice president of content services for Mozilla, points out that Firefox users can opt out if they don't want to see ads. True to Mozilla's open Internet initiative, Suggested Tiles will be user-centric rather than brand-focused.
The vice president notes that: "Users have a complete control over the system. It's completely private and totally transparent. Everyone in the ad business is talking about the same thing: they are talking about optimization, they are talking about data and they are talking about demand-side platform. But nowhere in anybody's conversation is the user. Mozilla is basically a user agent on the Internet. User control, privacy and transparency are three of the things we most care about here at Mozilla.

Buy Buttons Added in Sponsored Mobile Search Results

Digital Marketing Agency, Google is going to add buy buttons to its search results pages on mobile devices with a view to increasing its retail search traffic and advertising revenue. The buttons will appear in paid search results under a "Shop on Google" heading at the top of a page, but won't appear in the unpaid results.
According to Dave Ragals, global managing director of search at IgnitionOne, a digital marketing technology company, Google's move to buy buttons seems natural most industry insiders.
He says: "It's hardly a surprise. As mobile continues to grow, it's the right place for Google to start expanding. Specifically, for mobile in retail, Google is still at a disadvantage in comparison to Amazon. On Amazon, eBay or Esty, consumers can search and buy all in one place, which is something that Google hasn't offered before."
