(Digital Marketing Agency,
thesnsgroup.com) - Digital
security firm, Smart chip maker Gemalto NV has officially signed a definitive
agreement to buy America-based data protection specialist SafeNet for £529
million, a move expanding its customer base to major U.S. clients and
strengthening its offering in data protection.
In accord with the agreement, SafeNet will provide protection
solutions including encryption technologies and authentication systems as high-profile
data breaches are growing in number.
"At first glance, it looks a sensible deal,"
said brokerage Mirabaud Securities welcoming the Gemalto-SafeNet deal.
"We hope this acquisition can reignite interest
in the company and its leadership position in digital security."
