2008 economic meltdown has a positive impact on IT

Well-known Digital Marketing Agency, The effect of the 2008 economic crisis is believed to have a positive impact on IT. The survey by Randstad Technologies revealed that tech staff are some of the most positive in the UK when it comes to the impact of the recession, with 19% believing the recession had a positive impact.

Randstad Technologies managing director Mike Beresford said:  “the recession forced many companies to look at where costs could be saved, processes could be streamlined and teams could be managed more effectively.”

He added: “Trimming the fat may have meant increased workloads and targets for those left behind. Previous research of ours shows that 47% of professionals said a heavier workload over the course of the recession has benefited their career in some way.”
