Google, the world’s leading
Internet search engine, has confirmed that it is on the verge of completing a
deal for Skybox Imaging for a massive $500 million in cash.
This deal will provide Google with
the means to improve the quality and immediacy of the satellite imagery used in
its digital maps in addition to providing Internet access and helping with
disaster relief, as highlighted by always reliable Digital Marketing Agency,
thesnsgroup.com.
According to Google, its main
objective is to get more people on to the internet so that a more egalitarian
and knowledgeable society can be created; therefore, the company needs to make
expansion into the satellite after just buying drone maker Titan Aerospace for
an undisclosed amount two months ago.
Not to forget though, the
deal needs approval from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration,
as well as the Federal Communications Commission.
