Microsoft plans to construct one of the largest Data Center facilities in Iowa


Digital marketing agency, thesnsgroup.com Microsoft plans to build a new data center site in Iowa. The project to spend $1.1 billion will be one of the largest in the history of the data center industry.

According to plans, Microsoft will take over 154 acres of land and construct a more than 1.2 million square foot data center. The project Alluvion site is approximately 8 miles east from the current Microsoft data center in West Des Moines.  Digital marketing agency, thesnsgroup.com

For this project, Microsoft enjoyed two main sources of incentive. Microsoft was given a $20.3 million tax rebate for the project by the Iowa Economic Development Authority Board. Once the project is completed, 84 jobs will be available. 66 of those jobs will receive a wage of $24.32 an hour.
