Sales of Sony PlayStation 4 to Be Put off in China



(Digital Marketing Agency, thesnsgroup.com)- Sony Corp has officially confirmed that the company will defer its initial scheduled sale date of the PlayStation 4 gaming console in China, with negotiations with Chinese authorities said to be part of the reason for such delay.

As Reuter reported, the release would have marked PlayStation’s entry into China for the first time after China’s 14-year ban on foreign gaming consoles and at a moment when loss-making Sony is leaning on its gaming business to partially offset weakness in its mobile division.

“Cooperating with the government, we’ll provide a broad range of content for our users in China,” said Hiroyuki Oda, head of Asia business at Sony Computer Entertainment.


Firefox 34 Users Switching Back To Google As Default Search Engine



Digital Marketing Agency, According to recently released StatCounter data, Yahoo search gains in the wake of the Firefox “default search” deal announced earlier this year.

However for RKG’s Mark Ballard, many Firefox 34 users are switching back to Google as their default search engine.

Looking at paid clicks from Yahoo on Firefox, Ballard said Yahoo.com’s share of Firefox 34 paid search clicks peaked at 43% on December 10th as Mozilla ramped up pushing the upgrade out to users; since then, however, there have been gradual but continual losses back to Google, and Yahoo’s share of Firefox 34 clicks now stands at about 36 percent.

Apple Handset Models: The Most Used Smart Devices for Photography on Flickr



(Digital Marketing Agency) – By the end of 2014, photo sharing service, Flickr, has unveiled a statistic data on the most popular camera used in the app and the winner goes to Apple who even snatches the glory from DSLRs by Cannon and Nikon.

The data shows that the tech giant’s handsets claim the top four spots. The iPhone 5 is the king followed by iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 and iPhone 5C. The iPhone 6, iPad and iPad mini from Apple are also featured in the top 10 mobile cameras on Flickr.

Though the overall result shows that Apple is in the second spot behind Cannon, it is assumed that the 2015 chart would announce the firm as the first most popular company for photography on Flickr.

YouTube to Backup 360-Degree Video Footages



(Digital Marketing Agency) – Online search engine Google has announced recently that it will soon provide a native support for a 360-degree clips to its subsidiary video platform, YouTube.

This means you can film videos with the latest cameras that support the all-the-way-around platform and upload it to the site while YouTube figures out a way to make those footages work.
The greatest thing about this service is that it is compatible with virtual reality devices including Samsung’s Gear VR.

Google has not revealed the detailed information of this latest feature yet but released a statement via its spokesperson, "Ever wanted to get 360 perspectives on a video to see everything going on? That's why we're working to support 360 degree videos in the coming weeks."

The Two New Planets Similar To Earth: Kepler-438b and 442b



There are eight new planets has been discovered by NASA, including two, which are the most similar to Earth of any discovered so far, as Digital Marketing Agency reported. 

Moreover, the first defined by NASA's Kepler mission, those eight planets are on the distant suns' “habitable zone”. 

Mention that, the two of them, which similar to the earth are, Kepler-438b and which lies 475 light-years away, is just 12 percent bigger than Earth in diameter and has a 70 percent chance of being rocky, the scientists reported.

Kepler-442b is 1,100 light-years away and about one-third larger than Earth; its chance of being rocky is 60 percent.

“We don't know for sure whether any of the planets in our sample are truly habitable,” said David Kipping, an astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and second author on the paper. “All we can say is that they're promising candidates”. 

IBM rolls out Tokyo SoftLayer center



Digital Marketing Agency, IBM has launched its first SoftLayer cloud data center in Tokyo, Japan.  The purpose of the site is to address a fast-growing local market which increasingly wants local data storage with IBM claiming more than 1000 infrastructure as a service (IaaS) customers in Japan, where it says its cloud business grew 600 percent in 2014.

IBM is rapidly opening SoftLayer data centers in a $1.2 billion investment spree, which has already put facilities in Melbourne and Paris, as well as Hong Kong. The spread of facilities aims to allow more redundancy and address growing concerns about data residency and privacy so sensitive data can remain in its country of origin.

Lance Crosby, CEO of IBM SoftLayer, said: "Since we established a Singapore cloud data center in September 2011, SoftLayer has seen tremendous growth in the Asia-Pacific market. Our new cloud data center in Tokyo will support this evolving market."
