Digital Realty to Build Singapore Second Data Center

Digital Marketing Agency, Digital Realty Trust is to build a second data facility in Singapore, which it expects to cost at least US$149M. The new data center, which is located in Singapore’s northeast region in Loyang, is redeveloped from an existing printing paper storage facility and will have a gross area of roughly 16,000 sq m.
Daryl Dunbar, managing director Asia Pacific at Digital Realty, said: “Our first data center in Singapore marked Digital Realty’s entrance into one of Asia Pacific’s rapid expansion markets and enabled our global clients to enter the city-state and serve other regional markets with a trusted partner.”
He added: “Our new data center expansion supports Singapore’s efforts to become a regional data center hub and delivers the openness and agility that our global clients continue to want from us, as well as the broader data center industry, to accelerate their growth.”


US Health Insurer Has Been Hacked


A US health insurer has admitted it has been hacked and the data of 1.1 million of A US health insurer customers are exposed due to hacking. This CareFirst, which operates in several US states, us considered as the third company to fall victim to hackers. Actually, it happened in June last year, however, it was only figured out recently.
According to Digital Marketing Agency, “It follows similar attacks at Blue Cross, which had 11 million customer records stolen, and Anthem, which lost 80 million records.”
Member names, birth dates, email addresses and identification numbers are the CareFirst database; however, social security numbers, medical claims, employment, credit card or financial information are excluded.
CareFirst chief executive Chet Burrell said, "We deeply regret the concern this attack may cause. We are making sure those affected understand the extent of the attack - and what information was and was not affected."


Youtube Kids App Faces Complaints About Inappropriate Content


YouTube Kids app draws complaints about content due to its inappropriateness. Two child advocacy groups mentioned in their posted video that it would be extremely disturbing for young children to view.  
“A complaint, claiming that the groups found links to videos with explicit sexual language, jokes about paedophilia and drug use and adult discussions about violence, pornography and suicide, with the US regulator Federal Trade Commission has been lodged,” according to Digital Marketing Agency. YouTube mentioned that it will remove any inappropriate videos.
A YouTube spokesperson told the BBC, "We work to make the videos in YouTube Kids as family friendly as possible and take feedback very seriously. Note that YouTube Kids was being in the US in February, pledging to provide specially curated video content suitable for children.

A Women Sentenced For Google Executive a Fatal Overdose Of Heroin


Woman has been jailed to six years in in prison for Google executive's overdose death. This decision has been made after she pleaded guilty to a Google executive a fatal overdose of heroin in California. According to Digital Marketing Agency, “Alix Tichelman pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and drugs charges, which resulted in the 2013 death of Forrest Timothy Hayes.”

Additionally, Tichelman was willing to the plea deal as the evidence in the case. “Tichelman was seen in a surveillance video gathering her belongings, stepping over Hayes' body, finishing a glass of wine and lowering a blind before leaving the yacht,” said Tichelman's lawyer, Larry Biggam. The next day police found his body. Eight month later police arrested her.

AdWords Editor Upgraded to Support Labels


Digital Marketing Agency, Google has updated AdWords Editor that will offer labels, support for upgraded URLs, call-only ads, in-app mobile ads, and custom affinity audiences.
“User feedback led to the adoption of custom labels, which will add descriptors to things like campaigns and keywords so they can be readily sorted. Users can create and edit labels by using the Labels tab in the Shared Library in AdWords Editor,” according to the AdWords blog.
With AdWords businesses can sort audiences based on parental status, along with gender and age to better target key demographics.  Other features, like upgraded URLs, have been around for a while; however, since Google is asking all AdWords users to switch to upgraded URLs by July 1 the company has added support for the system in AdWords Editor.

Greenpeace Salutes Apple, but Criticizes Amazon

Digital Marketing Agency, Greenpeace has paid tribute to Apple’s commitment to using renewable energy, but criticized Amazon for holding back renewable power. Apple is given straight A’s across the table while Amazon Web Services gets low scores including an F for transparency.
The Greenpeace report says: “By continuing to refuse to provide any information on the energy consumption or greenhouse gas footprint of its data centers and other infrastructure, Amazon falls further out of step not only with its IT sector competitors, but also with the rest of major global corporations.”
Amazon has called Greenpeace’s report “inaccurate and misguided.” Amazon’s statement said: “We’ve told Greenpeace it’s wrong, but they chose to publish it anyway. We remain committed to providing our infrastructure technology platform in as environmentally friendly a fashion as possible.”

President Obama Launches His Own Twitter Feed


US President Barack Obama gets his own Twitter feed. @POTUS (President Of The United States) is his Twitter handle, additionally, within few hours after creation, his Twitter had received over a million followers, counted about 59.3m followers. It shows a huge attraction. According to Digital Marketing Agency, “Hello, Twitter! It's Barack. Really! Six years in, they're finally giving me my own account" is his first tweet.
Reads an entry on the White House website blog wrote, "The @POTUS Twitter account will serve as a new way for President Obama to engage directly with the American people, with tweets coming exclusively from him. President Obama is committed to making his Administration the most open and participatory in history, and @POTUS will give Americans a new venue to engage on the issues that matter most to them."

Only 65 people were followed by president Obama namely Bill Clinton, George Bush and @FLOTUS, the First Lady's account - but not Hillary Clinton or UK Prime Minister David Cameron.
